Thyme to be Good to Yourself with Sarah Ryley

Launch Offer: £185/person.  Normal price £220/person.

Sarah's food is healthy & slimming, but unbelievably delicious and beautifully presented. In this full-day class, the incredibly talented chef, Sarah Ryley, will share her passion for cooking and eating carefully sourced, nutritious and delicious food as she teaches us how to cook a three course menu for Autumn, tantalising our taste buds.

Original, fresh and home-made, Sarah’s dishes are seemingly indulgent yet deceptively good for us. Inspired by her love of healthy eating which lies at the heart of her cooking, Sarah’s dishes and menus can also be easily re-created at home.

In this, the first of Sarah’s seasonal classes at Thyme, we’ll learn to make a variety of dishes . Following the class, we’ll sit down to enjoy the dishes that we’ve made in the Tithe Barn at Thyme, where Sarah will join us as she happily answers questions and shares her tips for healthy eating in Autumn.

As a series, Sarah’s Be Good to Yourself classes will gradually teach us a range of cooking techniques, the principles of balancing flavours and textures of food whilst creating deliciously healthy dishes.

Techniques: Hollandaise sauce; bread making; use of gelatine; introduction to tuile making.

Nutrition: The principles of a macrobiotic diet and health benefits of potassium-rich vegetables.

Format: A day-long hands-on cooking class , including refreshments on arrival and three course lunch in the splendour of Thyme’s Tithe Barn dining room.

The kitchen is a masterpiece, brilliantly planned and kitted out and what a dreamy view too out onto the herb gardens. The Perry tasting was extremely interesting and so delicious, and I am going to try all the recipes again, a stunning, stylish and inspirational place! On the day I really cannot think of anything that could be bettered , v v fab!

The day was a real treat, thank you so much, I found it all deeply enjoyable visually and digestively! I only wish I had gone for the weekend and was staying in one of those paradise pods in the yard.

The day was a marvellous experience, it was huge fun tackling those soufflés in the kitchens and quaffing those delicious liquers under such expert guidance.

All the cookery schools I have experienced should spend a day with you to see how to present the perfect day.

Where can we begin to thank you for providing us all with such an exciting and constructive day, in the most beautiful cooking facilities in the UK and under the watchful eye (with a twinkle!) from an excellent instructor and top chef Daryll Taylor. The way the day was organised by Thyme at Southrop can only be captured in one word; OUTSTANDING!
