Q Do I have to book a course or can I just show up?
A You need to book and this can be done at this web site or by phone on: 01367 850174.

Q How much are the courses?
A Prices are from £65 upwards. View forthcoming courses here.

Q Do I need to have cooking experience?
A Our courses are open to everyone, whether you are an experienced chef or would like to try cookery for the first time. All you need is a keen interest in food!

Q Are recipes included?
A When arriving for your day, you will be given all the recipes that you will learning that day. They are then yours to keep to try out at home.

Q How many students are on each course?
A Each cookery day has a maximum of 24 students. For every 12 students, we have a chef and teaching assistant.

Q How long do the cookery classes last?
A a typical day will start at 9am and finish at 4.30pm although timings differ for certain classes. Please see specific timetables for each course.

Q What should I wear for the cookery class?
A Make sure that you are comfortable, especially your footwear. We will provide you with a Thyme apron to wear to protect your clothes. We would like to ask you to minimise jewellery for hygiene reasons.

Q Are meals provided?
A Each day includes a three course lunch.

Q Who are the teachers?
A Our teachers are all experienced in their particular disciplines and come from a variety of spheres. Some are local chefs, others are from further afield but all are chosen because they can offer you a special learning experience.

Q Do you offer courses for children
A Yes we do! We offer primary school age workshops right up to 16-18 year old cookery and etiquette lessons! Please call us to find out when our next courses are.

Q Where is Thyme at Southrop?
A We are situated in the beautiful village of Southrop, Gloucestershire, approximately half an hour’s drive from Oxford, Swindon and Cirencester. Directions available here.

Q Is there public transport to Thyme at Southrop?
A As we are in a rural location, there is no public transport right to our door. The nearest train stations are Swindon, Oxford or Charlbury and the taxi journey from the station to us will take about 30 minutes. Directions available here.

Q Do Gift Vouchers have an expiration date?
A Our gift vouchers have a life of one year to enable the gift receiver to choose from a variety of courses.

Q Do you offer vegetarian, vegan or gluten free courses?
A Yes, we will. Please keep on eye on our website as our courses are constantly updated. Or, alternatively, subscribe to our newsletter so you are amongst the first to find out what’s coming up.

Q Is there over night accommodation?
A We have beautiful cottages right next to the cookery school!

Q If I stay overnight, where can I have my evening meal?
